ABOUT US

Stirling Players began in 1970 with the amalgamation of Northbridge Repertory and The Intimate Players.

Our original home was in the Old Perth Roads Board office in Main St. Osborne Park, but very soon we moved to the Progress Hall in Gildercliffe St, Scarborough.

As our membership increased, in 1978, we were given the Health Administration Office in the City of Stirling Precinct. This became, after much renovation, the first Stirling Theatre.

Here we remained, growing in strength and repute, until Christmas 2000 when we were unceremoniously bulldozed away.

The City of Stirling then gave us the use of the Innaloo Recreation Centre. They equipped us with a new purpose built stage and greenroom, chairs and evaporative air-conditioning.

We also have done some renovations. We bought new stage curtains, lighting and sound equipment and fitted out the greenroom.

Our aim is to promote and encourage drama and allied arts within the City of Stirling for cultural, educational and recreational purposes, not for profit.

Stirling Players Youth (SPY) caters for young people aged between 13 and 21 years. Workshops are held and include basic skills of acting, movement, set design and construction, lighting and sound effects, costume, directing, stage management and script writing.
